Real estate tycoon Donald Trump is one of the front runner candidates for the Republican Party's presidential nomination. He is taking the political realm by storm with his outgoing personality, take-no-prisoners attitude, and cunning mannerisms.
Many people are super gung-ho for Trump, while others wish he would buzz off. His lack of any political experience as well as his stance against minority groups like Mexicans and Muslims have many people wondering how he is even a contender.
Donald Trump often uses hate speech at his rallies, calling opposers fat and dumb. He revs up the crowd by constantly telling them he is on their side, and that he dreams of a new America. Trump's ideals, mannerisms, and political platform does not reflect the direction our country should be going in.
Trump has showed tons of bigotry against people from other countries in statements like:
"The United States has become a dumping ground for Mexico and, in fact, for many other parts of the world."
"When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists."
In the wake of the recent attacks in Paris, and constant threats from ISIS, Trump has really showed how far his Islamophobia goes by saying if he becomes President of the United States he will require all Syrian refugees to be entered in a database and heavily monitored.
“When the Syrian refugees are going to start pouring into this country, we don’t know if they’re ISIS, we don’t know if it’s a Trojan horse. And I definitely want a database and other checks and balances. We want to go with watch lists. We want to go with databases.”
Trump has also gone further saying he will implement surveillance of certain mosques. Even though Trump has refuted that he made the statement to put all Muslim Americans into a database he has said it is an idea worth considering.
Trump told Yahoo News, "We're going to have to do things that we never did before. And some people are going to be upset about it, but I think that now everybody is feeling that security is going to rule, and certain things will be done that we never thought would happen in this country in terms of information and learning about the enemy. And so we're going to have to do certain things that were frankly unthinkable a year ago."
If it isn't enough that Donald Trump makes all of these horrible statements the people who support him have been showing the effects of Trump's awful attitude.
At a recent Trump rally two protesters yelled out during his speech and escorted out, as soon as they were Donald Trump mentioned how overweight one of the guys was as his supporters cheered and laughed.
Things got even worse last week when Black Lives Matter protesters interrupted a Trump rally. As the protesters yelled out they soon were assaulted by Trump supporters. As they were being escorted out they were pushed, shoved, spat on, punched, and more. The next day during an interview Trump said it was okay for them to be assaulted because they interrupted him.
It makes you wonder if Trump's supporters are aggressive enough to assault people at rallies, what will they do if he ever becomes president, especially since Trump sees nothing wrong with their actions.
Donald Trump has no shame in any of the things he says, he seldom apologizes, and constantly defends the hateful and ridiculous things he stands for. He has an awesome ability to get people going and he is mighty persuasive. This is horrifying. Hopefully his supporters will come to their senses and realize a vote for Trump is a vote in the wrong direction.
